Sr. Data Analyst

Our client has a mission to become the industry leader in education analytics, graduate outcome reporting, and student success. They develop innovative technologies in education, recruiting, and marketing by analyzing millions of data points with the latest data science, machine learning, and AI techniques. Their primary customers are US colleges and universities who want to improve their students’ outcomes by educating current students on their career paths, and by helping the universities measure career outcomes. As a Data Analyst, you will be working with the career path data of 60 million people, deriving insights and building web-based reports for their clients.

New employees are given major responsibilities early on. The Data Analyst will be responsible for discovering insights and becoming experts in their data. You must be comfortable working with large data sets through Python, SQL, and Tableau. Qualified candidates will be offered a competitive salary in a growing startup with a rapidly expanding client list. Special importance is placed on the Data Analyst, as he or she will work daily with the CTO, the CEO, and the data science team to produce new technologies, and create innovative processes to accomplish company goals.

Success Criteria

A successful candidate will take over reporting responsibilities, which includes:

  • Generating reports for new clients
  • Generating insights from the company's data assets
  • Developing new reports based on client requests
  • Finding additional insights from our data
  • Developing new reports for ancillary lines of business (marketing, real-estate, etc.)

A successful candidate will be able to manipulate data in both Python and SQL, with advanced knowledge of both languages. The candidate will coordinate requirements between the sales

team and the technical team, and ensure communication between the sales and technology teams.


  • Python (Pandas, NumPy)
  • SQL (or NoSQL)
  • Tableau (or other visualization tools)
  • Experience managing your own projects
  • Experience with presenting/communicating complex concepts and data-driven insights
  • Experienced in analytics with large scale datasets in relational and non-relational data models.

You must be able to have knowledgeable conversations about business goals, in addition to your data skills. You will be surrounded by a dedicated and talented team to push forward with innovative new products and processes. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills through previous experience, and/or custom projects. Include projects, GitHub links, etc. in your application!
